The time is upon us to celebrate making it to the 10 year mark of releasing great CDs and vinyl. DRP RECORDS is a small indie label with some great networking, good distribution and LOTS of talented bands. We are incredibly excited for this weekends festival featuring current roster acts, alumni bands coming back for the show, side projects, and reunions of some of our most beloved bands. Make your plans to arrive early, stay late and recover on Sunday. The club hosting this extravaganza is REVERB, Reading, Pa.’s newest concert venue. Lots of free parking, great food and drink prices, and a drp records superstore for this weekend with lots of almost out of print forever releases, limited edition shirts and DVDs, HUGE savings on everything… Distorted Rock and Punk. TUESDAY April 27th: drp records head, Frank Phobia will be the guest on DREAMERS hosted by Chris Talarico on BCTV in Reading Pa. airing at 7 PM EST. BCTV also broadcasts on the web so you can watch the show on your computer if you don’t live in the Reading, Pa. area. Here is the line-up for the Festival featuring current bands on our roster, some one off reunion appearences, and side project bands featuring members of the drp records family. Each night the music will end at 12 midnight and will be followed with DJ sets from drp records family members: I Want To Kill You’s Troy Hinson aka TROYQUAN (he will open and close both nights with sets) + WISKEY TANGO aka Markie Boov from drp’s EASTCIDE + JARED PICCONE. Jared is now in INNERPARTYSYSTEM but was in 4 (yes four drp records bands, D’arey October, Choose Your Own Adventure, The Skyline Drive and ThirteenOverEight). We will have a drp records superstore setup with rare, hard to find, and deep discounted CDs, shirts, and more ! We can’t wait to see everyone ! All cameras and video cameras WILL be allowed at this event. In other news here at drp records: GLOOMINOUS DOOM: Sad news, it looks like tragedy has struck the ‘Doom. Singer Jeff Kruppenbach has been eaten by a polar bear on a Viking trek in Iceland. So, after the memorial service, the remaining members of the band asked fellow grieving friend, the Singer/ Bassist of RUMPLESTILTSKIN GRINDER, Shawn Riley to fill in on their upcoming tours. These shows will be special events try to check them out ! Upcoming shows see the GD guys team up with MENSREA (featuring Cory Smoot of GWAR) + DEAD BY WEDNESDAY and drp’s very own DIVINATION !!! Who are finally hitting the road to support the awesome new CD “Age Of Man”. DRP RECORDS: 2010 was the busiest year in the 10 year history of our label. We released 12 different titles of awesome music for everyone to love. If you supported any of our artists this year we just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH ! We’d also like to say 2010 was our biggest success ever at Loud Rock Radio, with Gloominous Doom, The Workhorse lll and Viking Skull hitting the radio waves hard and charting very well. The releases were met with very positive reviews in the press and our bands are hitting the road now more than ever, bringing the rock to your face in your town. We look forward to bringing you NEW music and some re-issued faves in 2011 from a bunch of exciting, talented, kick ass artists from all over the planet. BIG HUGE THANKS to Heavy Hitter Radio Promotions, Jose + Troy @ Sirius, Gordon Conrad @ Relapse, Greg Bowman at Level Nine, Dave Causa for the continued video support, and everyone at MVD. COMMON ENEMY : The kick ass Punk band from PA. had a GREAT year ! The CD/ LP “Living The Dream?” is still selling well as the band toured Europe again, supported shows for D.R.I., HellMouth, Tesco Vee’s Hate Police, Jello Biafra, and countless others. Catch them on tour NOW !!! The band are hitting the studio soon for more fun filled anthems coming at you via Overdose On Records/ drp in 2011. VIKING SKULL: The song “Blackened Sunrise” continues to gain airplay especially on Sirius Radio. The song will be featured in the new JACKASS 3-D DVD coming soon ! The CD/ LP “Chapter Two” will be released in a special one CD/ European only jewel case version. The killer re-issue is now available on Gold vinyl, special book package 2 CD set, and now on the combined 2 CDs on 1 (all tracks are included from both the full length and Blackened Sunrise EP + the video directed by Bam Margera) Viking Skull ON TOUR in the UK Feb. 11 through March 5th with The BLACK SPIDERS. No US dates are announced quite yet, but, we are working on it. PAGAN BABIES: Philly Hardcore Punk Legends are playing in Philly. DO NOT MISS THIS. Very few shows will be booked to support the Anthology CD/DVD “Last” out now on drp records. So, do NOT miss any of them !!! FYI: The reunited band THE HEELS (featuring members of Pagan Babies and The Workhorse lll) played their first show back two weeks ago and from all reports, were amazing !!! The Heels will be supporting Legends, D.R.I. at The Trocadero in Philly on Sat. Feb. 26th.
